COMPLETION DATES

Working toward goals and reaching them is a positive experience for most students and adults. After only a few days a student’s learning rate can be assessed. Since mastery scores are clearly defined using rate measurement, we are able determine expected completion dates.

For example, if a student is working in module Multiplication 2 Category A,  projecting that student's progress line to his mastery score would give a target date for completion of that module. The student would have the realistic expectation to achieve mastery.  For example, the student would know that through diligence he can complete this module by a week from this Wednesday.

Having concrete, clear goals that are realistic gives each student a challenge and a positive experience when that goal is reached.  These goals are not set arbitrarily: they are based upon the student’s growth rate and mastery score.
